The Olympics

We finally got to watch the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics in Beijing. Wow! We expected something awesome with dragons and fireworks, but loved the performances and all the technology mixed with performers that made it spectacular. Here are some pics of our favorite parts from the official website of the Olympics:

Were you as surprised as we were to see that people were doing all that, and not some complex pneumatic device? We loved it!
I thought the costumes were incredible. The attention to detail made them just stunning. Can you imagine performing in the heat in these costumes with all that makeup? It seemed like a lot of the performances were physically demanding and yet they did them so well, and with such precision and timing. Very graceful and lent a great air of pageantry.

Anyway, I added a link on the sidebar to the Official Olympic site in case you want to keep up with the medal count, or check the schedule. Our boys are waiting for "the weird rules baseball." Do you think Michael Phelps will get 8 Gold Medals?
